Powering the Autonomous Revolution
Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) are transforming material handling across every major industry. At the heart of every AGV fleet lies a critical component that often goes unnoticed until it fails: the wheel.
Why Wheel Selection Determines AGV Success
AGV wheels carry the full weight of the vehicle, payload, and actuation forces while providing the precise traction and low rolling resistance needed for accurate navigation. A poorly chosen wheel leads to slippage, encoder errors, premature bearing failure, and costly unplanned downtime.
HERDAR AGV wheel solutions are engineered with the following priorities:
- Consistent Rolling Radius — Maintains encoder accuracy over thousands of kilometers
- Dual Shore Hardness — Hard tread for wear resistance, softer inner layer for shock absorption
- Anti-Static Tread Formulations — ESD-safe materials protect sensitive electronics
- Precision Bearings — Double-row ball bearings for high load capacity and long life
Key Application Scenes
From e-commerce fulfillment centers operating at breakneck speeds to semiconductor fabs where ESD control is paramount, our wheels serve AGVs in the world's most demanding environments. We support load capacities from 200kg light-duty picking robots to 10,000kg heavy-duty towing AGVs.
Materials & Technologies
Our polyurethane formulations range from 82A to 95A hardness, with Vulkollan®-equivalent options for extreme wear resistance. Drive wheels feature steel or aluminum hubs with integrated keyways and set screws for secure torque transfer. For cleanroom applications, we offer non-marking, particle-free tread compounds.
