Type & Installation

Common caster mounting types include top plate (swivel or rigid), stem, hollow kingpin, and side bracket mounting. Your equipment type determines the mounting style. Pay attention to bolt hole patterns, stem diameter, and overall length.

Load Calculation

To calculate caster load capacity, know your equipment self-weight, maximum payload, and the number of casters. Always include a safety margin.

EXAMPLE

A hand truck has 4 casters. The truck weighs 100 kg and transports 500 kg of equipment.

(500 + 100) / 4 × 1.5 = 225

Each caster must be rated for at least 225 kg.

Specifications

To ensure the caster fits your equipment, confirm key dimensions: wheel diameter, wheel width, overall height, and offset (swivel radius). Match these to your equipment's mounting requirements.

  • Wheel Diameter (mm) Determines load capacity and rolling ease.

  • Overall Height (mm) Total caster height from mounting surface to floor.
