Single Wheels
Flexible single-wheel options for compact systems, replacement programs, and modular designs across industries.
About This Category
Our single-wheel catalog provides standalone wheels for integration into custom assemblies, replacement programs, and OEM applications. From polyurethane treads to nylon and rubber compounds, each wheel is manufactured to tight tolerances for consistent performance and easy interchangeability.
Key Features
How to Choose the Right Single Wheel
The hardness, shape, and tread material of a single wheel significantly affect operational smoothness, turning flexibility, and floor protection.
Load Capacity Calculator
T = (E + Z) / n × S — enter your values to get the required load per wheel
Wheel Material
In general, tread hardness should be lower than the floor surface hardness to avoid damaging floors. Reference the material comparison below when making your selection.
| Material | Tread Hardness | Running Quietness |
|---|---|---|
| Pneumatic / Soft Rubber | Soft | ★★★★★ |
| Elastic Rubber / Elastic PU | Medium-Soft | ★★★★☆ |
| Solid Rubber | Medium | ★★★☆☆ |
| Polyurethane (PU) | Hard | ★★☆☆☆ |
| Cast Iron / Nylon / PP / Phenolic | Very Hard | ★☆☆☆☆ |
Load Calculation
To calculate the load capacity for each single wheel, you must know the equipment self-weight, maximum payload, and the total number of wheels.
An indoor transport cart has 6 single wheels. The cart weighs 100 kg and transports 500 kg of equipment.
(500 + 100) / 6 × 1.5 = 150→ Each single wheel must be rated for at least 150 kg.
Wheel Diameter
Generally, larger diameters are easier to push, offer higher load capacity, and better protect floors from damage. Diameter selection should consider the load weight and the starting force required.
Rolling Resistance Factors
Lower rolling resistance is achieved with:
- Larger wheel diameter
- Harder tread hardness
- Better tread rebound resilience
- Ball bearings (vs. plain bearings)
- Smoother floor surfaces
Swivel Resistance Factors (for casters)
Lower swivel resistance is achieved with:
- Harder tread hardness
- Larger tread crown radius
- Greater offset distance (kingpin to wheel center)
Application Scenarios
Select single wheels based on your operating environment: floor surface condition, obstacles, residue (metal chips, grease), temperature (high, ambient, or low), and required load capacity.
Pallet Jack Wheels
High-load PU or nylon wheels for manual and electric pallet jacks operating on warehouse floors.
Lightweight & Quiet Wheels
Soft rubber or elastic PU wheels for office, hospital, and retail applications requiring low noise.
European Standard Wheels
Precision-machined wheels meeting EN standards for OEM equipment and export markets.
