Wheel Type

Identify which wheel types your AGV transport vehicle requires. As shown in the AGV diagram, this vehicle has 4 idler wheels and 2 drive wheels — select according to these two standard configurations.

Drive Wheel

Provides propulsion and steering force. Requires high traction, precise rolling radius, and encoder-compatible hubs.

Idler Wheel

Supports load and maintains stability. Needs low rolling resistance and consistent diameter for smooth travel.

Installation Method

Determine the mounting style required for your AGV wheels. The installation method affects torque transmission, alignment precision, and ease of maintenance.

Load Calculation

To calculate the load capacity required for each idler and drive wheel, you must know the equipment's own weight, maximum payload, and the number of wheels used.

Safety Factor Recommendations

Choose the appropriate safety factor based on operating environment and obstacle conditions:

EXAMPLE

An indoor AGV has 4 idler wheels and 2 drive wheels (6 total). The vehicle weighs 100 kg and transports 500 kg of equipment.

(500 + 100) / 6 × 1.5 = 150

Each wheel must be rated for at least 150 kg.
